ImageTens of thousands of Islamist activists gathered on Sunday in Jakarta, Indonesia, to participate in a rally organized by Hizb A-Tahrir Al-Islami (Islamic Liberation Party – ILP), an international movement calling to re-establish the Islamic Caliphate.
The meet is taking place a day after a similar event in Ramallah, in the Palestinian territories. The highlight of the conference came when the ILP's Amir (prince or leader), 'Ata Bin Khalil Abu Rushta, for the first time delivered recorded speech to his followers in the Palestinian areas.

"The Muslims suffered their disasters after the West managed to destroy the Caliphate nation,” Abu Rushta said according to the Palestinian news agency Ma'an. "We are today obliged to strive to [re-]establish the Caliphate and reunite the Muslims of the world in one strong state, which would give them once again honor and sovereignty."

Among the participants were also ILF spokesmen in Turkey and Pakistan.

"The armies, with all their cadres – the God-fearing generals, officers and soldiers, must free the occupied lands of the Muslims from the colonialist heretic forces, which include America, England, France, Russia, India and China," said ILP spokesman in Turkey Yilmaz Celik.

ILP spokesmen around the world have repeatedly declared their movement does not believe in violence. Nevertheless, its branches in several countries in the world were outlawed by the security authorities.

On January 20 this year, 1,200 members of the Muslim community in Britain participated in a protest organized by the ILF branch in London. The protestors assembled in front of the American embassy and called on the U.S. and U.K. to cease their attacks in Iraq and Somalia.

A few months later David Davis the British Conservative Party called to ban the ILF because of its aspiration to establish a Caliphate in the U.K.. ILF's Executive Committee Chairman in Britain Abdul Wahid dismissed Davis's claim but assured him that the ILF "will not compromise our values and believes, and will continue to motivate people against the disease of colonialism which is what maintains the political and economic injustice that exists throughout the Muslim world."
